Numerous marine animals are taken away from their homes and are placed in tanks. Why? For our entertainment. These animals (whales, dolphins, orcas, seals, etc) are drugged in order to manage their stress and aggressive behavior and stop them from swimming in circles. They break their teeth chewing on the metal bars and concrete sides of their tanks and are forced to perform tricks for tourists in exchange for food, all in the name of entertainment. People think holding these poor animals in captivity increases their life span, no it is the exact opposite. Dolphins who can live up to 40 years die in their teen years held in captivity. These animals are whiplashed and hit to perform a few tricks for our joy. Animals in "petting pools" are commonly regularly exposed to different bacterias and pathogens. Marine animals are forced to put up a show even when they are ill or facing bodily infections. Fortunately, there is a growing awareness that capturing and keeping these poor animals in captivity is inhumane. Many countries have banned live captures in their waters, as well as imports, exports, and/or captivity altogether. Yet there are countries that still support keeping marine animals in captivity. Instead, we can head towards cruelty-free options such as a Hologram show. In Germany, they have devised a holographic circus show using hologram technology which gives you a real and cruelty-free experience. If the world has such amazing technology then why can't we use it for such purposes?
