Whaling - the process of hunting of whales for their usable products such as meat and blubber, which can be turned into a type of oil that became increasingly important in the Industrial Revolution.
see the definition of the word whaling ? brutal isn't it, Japan, Norway, and Iceland are the leading countries that have popularized with whaling.
Thousands of whales and dolphins are slaughtered each year. The process in which wales are hurt and killed is fundamentally and unacceptably cruel. Question arises HOW do they kill them ? what is this method ? if we talk about the traditional whalers, they use hand-held harpoons to ensnare whales, and then kill them with high-powered rifles. They have also used penthrite bombs and black powder. what about the "modern whalers" , do they use the same method ? well no they use explosive grenade harpoons to attack / kill them. ( you will understand this concept better when you take a look at the picture down below )
Now, coming to 2021 is Whaling still accepted ? as said before Japan, Norway, and Iceland are the leading countries that have popularized with whaling do they still continue the practice of whaling ? well currently these are the only countries that are allow to do commercial whaling, though Iceland's two whaling companies suspended their hunts this year under the influence of COVID-19 and may not resume them. this practice still continues.
