Roadside Zoos are basically unaccredited or unauthorized zoos where wild and exotic animals are held in captivity. Animals like lions, monkeys, tigers, wolves, and others are imprisoned and suffer badly. Their living conditions are absolutely horrendous. They're confined in small, unhygienic, and barren enclosures. This captivation, uncontrollable boredom, loneliness, and sometimes even abuse by the workers in the zoos cause these animals to lose their minds. They even develop a condition known as “zoochosis,” where they often rock, sway, or pace endlessly, and some even resort to hurting themselves by chewing on their own fingers or limbs or pulling out their fur or feathers. Zoochosis, at times, can become so rampant that the animals are given antidepressants and antipsychotics to control their behavior. These roadside zoos are basically a scam. They name themselves as a "Sanctuary" or a "rescue center" but this is the horrible truth. The real side of these scams is that many of these roadside zoos are nothing but breeders, dealers, and exhibitors exploiting the innocence of the public. Well, What can you do? Don't spend your time/hours buying tickets at places like this instead explain to your family, friends, colleagues, etc why it's not right to support things like this.
