Dogfighting is a kind of blood sport that turns dogs against each other in a ring or a pit all for the purpose of gambling or sheer entertainment of the spectators. These dogs are abused and stimulated to rip each other apart until one is declared a winner. When these dogs are not "fit" to fight they are then left to die or they are killed. The dogs who are most commonly bred for fighting are generally Pit bulls, Staffordshire terriers, American Staffordshire terriers, American bulldogs, and American pit bull terriers. The dogs that are used for fighting are generally kept penned or chained and are starved and taunted in order to trigger their aggression. Unfortunately, there are many countries where dog fighting is still legal and in India, dog fights are illegal under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the activity was banned by the Supreme Court in 2014, but such fights still take place illegally in Delhi and nearby areas of Punjab and Haryana. Dog fights were very common then and not as much now but that does not mean that it does not happen. They would be taking occurring in the darkest of places, for money and entertainment. If you ever spot any events of dogfighting call your local Law enforcement center. Remember: "An Animal has rights but no voice, so it's our responsibility to be that voice"
